Course Outline
    1. Introduction to word processing:
      • Definition of word processing concept
      • Describing various examples of word processing software
      • Explaining different features of word processing software
      • Stating advantages and disadvantages of word processing software.
    2. Learning how to Creating folders and saving files in the folder:
      • Creating a folder on the desktop
      • Creating a file in folder.
    3. Page layout:
      • Adjust document page setup for margins, orientation and columns
      • Different document view features
      • Insert page numbers, pages and section breaks, themes and effects.
    4. Data tabulation:
      • Inserting and drawing a table in the document
      • Formatting cells i.e. cell merging, resizing and splitting.
      • Inserting rows and columns
      • Navigating table cells, enter and manipulates text.
    5. Use of other software objects:
      • Manipulation of text box, lines and colour fill.
      • Use of character map
      • Use of basic lines, shapes arrows and flow charts.
      • Grouping and ungrouping objects
    6. Document accuracy:
      • Use of document editing features such as; Spell checker, insert comment, track changes, thesaurus and synonyms.
    7. Mail merge, document referencing and printing:
      • Linking content through mail merge.
      • Creating table of contents and hyperlinks
      • Use of document and text referencing through footnotes and end notes.
      • Print out typeset text and documents.

Mr. Mutyaba Daniel
He holds a Distinction certificate in Computer applications and systems from Uganda College of Commerce Tororo, First class Uganda Diploma in Business studies specialised in Accounting awarded by Makerere University Business School(MUBs), a First Class Honours Degree in Business Studies and Education majored in IT and Business subjects from Kyambogo University, he also holds a CPA level two from ICPAU. Due to his excellent academic performance he was retained at Kyambogo University and currently is lecturing Business Computing, accounting and Business information systems in School of management and entrepreneurship. He is currently pursuing a Joint Masters Degree of Business Administration(MBA) from the University of Piraeus Greece in collaboration with Kyambogo University. Daniel is an ICT teacher for 7 years at Hilton High School Mukono and as well as a teacher of Business subjects. He has also authored these books; Syllabus based Subsidiary ICT, Computer &IT Hands Handbook
